Slow living
Let's slow down, eh?
Since when did we choose to let life get so mad, busy, demanding and slightly out of control? In the 20 years since becoming a mum I have personally felt the increase in pace and the pressure to ‘perform’ and reach amazing heights of…popularity, financial success, keeping up with the Jones’s etc etc. And it has hurt. It’s come at a cost to my mental health and to the time that could have been spent with family or doing the things that matter to me most. Recently I decided that I needed to put the breaks on, be in control of my days, filter what was going past my eyes (think courses that make you feel like you’re never enough), etc etc. I do not want to look back and regret not noticing the small things, the sweet moments with my youngest, the opportunity to connect with my older kids. But instead, strive for a balance where I can achieve what I want but in my own time frame.
So let’s explore the slow life and why you can adopt parts the movement to enhance your own life and again…breathe! Oh and have a cup of tea whilst doing that!
