I am constantly inspired by the nature that surrounds us and without trying to sound cliche, it is a matter of balancing being in it enough with life! I found myself mid 2022 and felt like I was just not loving life. Life felt pressured, stressed and I was always trying to ‘perform’, balancing all the balls of life in the air – managing kids, work, clients, an air b’n b, household duties, my own passions and pursuits etc etc. Somewhere in there I was supposed to be relaxing! Honestly, the only relax time I was making was at 9pm when I’d flop into the chair at night with hubby, too knackered to actually talk or enjoy the show we might watch.
Something had to change. I decided consciously, I need more snippets of downtime, 10 minutes/ 30 minutes and hopefully longer where possible, to fit in some sort of moment of gratitude, nature, me time!! I’m talking about going for walks around my neighbourhood, photographing flowers in my yard, getting my hands dirty in the garden, camping with the gang, or simply sitting under a tree in my backyard with a cup of tea – all with the camera in my hand.
