6 Great Educational And Fun Gift Ideas For Kids

I love to give gifts that are educational but fun at the same time. Giving gifts that can entertain and grow kids’ minds is a win-win. The toys and games mentioned below are many that my boys have enjoyed and loved for a while now.

HERE ARE 6 GREAT EDUCATIONAL AND FUN GIFTS FOR KIDS UNDER 10 YEARS OF AGE.

1) MELISSA & DOUG BASIC SKILLS BOARD

This is a perfect gift set for children who are learning basic getting dressed skills. It features a snap, a button, a zipper, a belt buckle, a plastic press-and-release buckle, and a lace. The activities on this board are great for motor skills, problem-solving, hand-eye coordination, and dexterity. So many life skills can be learned from this one board! I love gifting this to families with small children. Perfect for ages 2-5 years.

2) MONTESSORI WORLD MAP PUZZLE SET

World map puzzle set is wonderful in so many ways. Through this set, children can learn the seven continents; learn about each continent in isolation and trace the thin map pieces. Tracing maps help with brain, visual and kinesthetic connections. It’s also great for memory and paying attention to detail. A set like this can last for several years.

3) MAGNETIC TILES

My boys received this 2 years ago for Christmas and continue to play with this still. They are constantly building with this set. Magnetic tiles are great for building imagination, recognizing patterns and shapes, sparks interests in science and engineering as well.

4) TINKER CRATE

We’ve enjoyed Kiwi crate for many years. The boys get so excited when they see the green box at the door. I love that the company has come up with many more selections that cover age ranges from 24 months to 16 years. The crates are creative, educational and fun. Kiwi and Tinker crates are perfect for budding scientists and thinkers.  Great STEM-building activities!

5) SNAP CIRCUITS

A great hands-on way to learn about electrical circuits. I wish I had this when I was younger. My boys can sit for hours and build and design models of working circuits. You can build over 300 projects including a doorbell (my boys’ favorite), radio and much more. This is another great STEM learning kit that can last for several years.

6) LEARNING RESOURCES CODE & GO ROBOT MOUSE ACTIVITY SET

We were introduced to this resource recently. A student brought it in as part of her topic talk and needless to say, the class was hooked. A great set to introduce kids to coding and programming. It encourages critical thinking skills, logic and problem-solving. First, you build the maze, then use the coding cards to help, Colby the mouse navigate through the maze.
